The ICSC Community Support Awards


Accomplished commercial and retail real estate consultant Teresa Bailey-Weirich has held leadership positions with a number of prominent corporations including Wachovia Bank and JPMorgan Chase Bank. Over the course of her career Teresa Bailey-Weirich has engaged with a number of professional groups, including the International Council of Shopping Centers.

The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) operates with an objective of maintaining the integrity and encouraging the development of the global retail real estate industry. Through the ICSC Foundation, the organization supports the philanthropic activities of members and their communities. Particularly effective ICSC Foundation charitable initiatives are recognized by the annual Community Support Awards program.

The Community Support Awards program comprises seven regional awards, each representing international attention for the award winner’s efforts and $10,000 in grant funding for the relevant charity. Charitable initiatives are lauded for their innovation and scope of reach. Regional award winners are subsequently considered for the Albert Sussman International Community Support Award, presented at RECon Las Vegas along with an additional $15,000 grant. Helping Wounded Warriors Find Fulfilling Careers


Teresa Bailey-Weirich leverages extensive experience in retail and commercial real estate to serve as senior director of market planning for a high-profile banking entity. In this position, Teresa Bailey-Weirich provides strategic oversight, planning, and management to retail-banking market plans and site selection. Aside from her professional responsibilities, Ms. Bailey-Weirich supports a number of charitable organizations, including the Wounded Warrior Project.

The Wounded Warrior Project is an organization dedicated to helping our nation’s wounded veterans successfully adjust to life after the military. Helping veterans find employment they enjoy is one of the ways it accomplishes this. The Warriors to Work program helps veterans identify their experience and abilities so that they can be matched with suitable employment opportunities. Career counselors help veterans set goals, write a resume, and build an online presence, as well as training them in interviewing and networking techniques.

The Onward to Opportunity program, a partnership with the Veterans Career Transition Program, is an option for many veterans, providing essential training in careers related to customer service, information technology, and business management. After successfully completing the classroom or online program, the veterans receive professional certification and assistance in their subsequent career search.
